Whereas with her second collection ‘Lilith’, which was also for the fashion risk taker but with more of a mature edge, Kesia used manipulated leathers, matte jersey, pleated lame & linen to round off her line. Kesia used stretch leather, heavy rayon & printed knits with flawless gold beading. This collection catered more to the fun loving, edgy, youthful fashion risk taker. The most anticipated & last designer of the night, Kesia Estwick showcased two collections back to back. Perfect for the modern woman of elegance who’s looking for a dose of minimalist chic. My favorite piece being the sleeveless white dress with a wide spread collar & black vertical panel going down the middle, which connected to the black lower half of the dress. Her black & white based collection had a modern take on elegance. What kind of feathers you ask? Rooster feathers!īrandi Estwick showcased her line ‘Iman Estie’. To me, his overall standout piece was the feather bottomed gown. He explained to me that this specific dress actually took two months to finish, using the shells to create the intricately designed bodice & hem. Particularly with a favorite pieces of mine, made with coral-colored shells which he got from China. Originally from the Philippines, Kenneth brought a taste of the orient to the runway. The third & final night ended with a bang, with the well received couture designer from the USA, Charles Corsky Dieujuste. Anicia Brooks & Mark Eastman were my standouts from the second night, both hailing from The Caribbean Academy of Fashion & Design at The University of Trinidad & Tobago. Designers such as Kenneth Barlis out of Los Angeles, Kesia Estwick & Brandi Estwick from Barbados (no relation), rocked the runway on the first night. It must be admitted there were designers who showcased fabulous collections at this year’s BB Fashion Week.
